Life among the Trees sprang from hours of improvisation with an experimental approach to music. When they started popping up around Albany they had no name, just a sound that turned basements into cathedrals, art galleries, dance floors, and jungles. A core group of three musicians let something out that few have seen before. They are artists who constantly challenge themselves. This drive creates a vibrant energy that feeds their distinctive and ever changing voice. They discovered that voice in the spirit of letting go and have let it guide them ever since.
Sticklips is the experimental folk project of Johanna Warren, whose ethereal, hauntingly beautiful voice couples with adept finger-picking to weave a tapestry of unusual harmonies and surreal poetry.
