The Claverack Free Library presents a program by counselor Claudia Coenen. All of us experience grief at various times in our lives, and it is often challenging to know how to help someone else. The community is invited to join a conversation about what to say, what not to say, and how to truly help someone who is grieving. Claudia Coenen is a certified grief counselor with a private practice in Hudson, NY. After the death of her husband in 2005, Claudia studied thanatology, which is the science of death, dying and bereavement, in an effort to understand how we grieve and how we can help each other. Her life as a performing artist and writer informs her creative approach.
