The Olana Partnership sponsors a symposium, “Framing the Viewshed: The Transformative Power of Art and Landscape in the Hudson Valley." There will be a panel discussion moderated by David Schuyler, the biographer of Calvert Vaux. Linda S. Ferber will speak on the four Hudsons of Wallace Bruce. Harvey K. Flad will discuss the “Art of Protecting Scenic Views: Nineteenth-century Artists and the Preservation of Modern-day Landscapes.” Laurie Olin will speak on the use of contemporary design in historic settings.
