This two-hour workshop is a whirlwind tour of the principles and practice of Oral History; we'll cover interview techniques, an easy tech tutorial, ethical issues, and all the elements of an Oral History project design. Workshop attendees will learn about different kinds of Oral History projects, such as family histories, community histories, and other sub-categories, while looking at the broad range of disciplines/subjects that oral history can address (public health, environmental justice, memory...). This course is appropriate for the beginning oral historian, the budding journalist, and those determined to document their family histories in 2011. No experience necessary. Registration deadline: February 5. Cost: $20 per person. Presenter: Suzanne Snider, Oral Historian
