The Athens Cultural Center presents its Summer 2021 exhibition, "Head Out on the Highway: A Love Embrace." Head Out on the Highway examines motorcycle history and culture and will consist of motorcycles on display accompanied by paintings, photography, and various ephemera celebrating the subject matter. The opening day activities will include a 1 p.m. robotics team presentation by D.R. Evarts Library before live musical performances begin at 2 p.m., with the local band, The Wallpapers, led by Athens village mayor Amy Serrago and husband, Yves Gerard. At 7:30 p.m. there will be an outdoor screening of Dennis Hopper’s Easy Rider (1969, R-rated), open to the public, at the Athens Riverfront Park. Outdoor chairs and beverages of choice are welcomed. The exhibition runs through August 22.
