Four regional authors at HOH will discuss new books and inspire you with insights about modern country living, home, garden and lifestyle. Each book will be available for purchase and signing. Books and authors featured at this event will be "Private Gardens of the Hudson Valley" by Jane Garmey, "Love Where You Live" by Joan Osofsky and Abby Adams-Westlake, and "Classic & Modern: Signature Styles" by Dennis Wedlick and Alan Barlis. Gardener Jane Garmey will discuss some of the twenty-six private gardens that are presented in her book and how each owner didn’t have prior experience. Inspiration to all gardeners that no good garden happens overnight and it is possible for people with no experience to learn how to make a beautiful garden. Design expert Joan Osofsky of Hammertown Barn shares her expertise and insights into making a home warm, inviting and personal. Co-written with author Abby Adams-Westlake, the book presents 18 country homes in the Hudson Valley and New England. With over 250 photographs by photographer John Gruen, “Love Where You Live” is a beautiful and inspiring guide to contemporary country decorating. Architects Dennis Wedlick and Alan Barlis share tips on how a signature look can be created by fusing together architectural elements from a variety of styles from classical to minimalist. A frequent speaker at industry events, Barlis is also an instructor at the City College of New York. Wedlick has received nation-wide recognition in publications such as Architectural Record, The New York Times and Life Magazine.
