A celebration to commemorate the 241st year since the adoption of the American flag, with presentations about the history and importance of the flag, of Flag Day itself and of our ever popular Hudson Flag Day Parade, including a special American flag cake. Featuring a display of the American flag throughout history, Dan Shaugnessey, member and past Exalted Ruler of the Hudson Elk’s Lodge 787, will present how to properly care for, display, and dispose of the flag. Shaugnessey, a Hudson native and U.S. Army veteran, will also teach guests the proper flag folding techniques. Hudson Flag Day Parade Committee members Skip Kastner and Michael Madison will share information about the history and significance of Flag Day.
