Hudson-based furniture designer and educator Elise McMahon will lead participants through a discussion of the endless potential of lighting: the variety of materials, the skills needed, and design concepts. Participants will learn how to safely use basic carpentry tools like a chop saw and drill, as well as learning the proper way to attach and wire lamp hardware. Each participant will be supplied with everything they need to make one floor or table lamp and walk away with all the skills needed to continue designing and making lamps long into the future.
