Four-hour course taught by Matty Hart of Aubry introduces students to the handcraft of greenwood spoon carving. Hart will demonstrate how to use a hatchet to cut the spoon blanks from a freshly harvested green log and then teach students safe and effective knife grips for carving. Students will learn to use a straight Sloyd knife to shape the spoon and a hook knife for hollowing out the bowl.
