The 3rd Annual Rhinebeck Winter Craft Fair & Market is back on Saturday, December 13th from 10am-3pm at Rhinebeck High School. Featuring over 50 unique vendors and artisans from the Hudson Valley. Delicious treats and abundant raffles.

Delaware Valley Action is a non-profit organization {501(c)(4)}, now serving the tri-state Upper Delaware River Region. DVA is holding a Holiday Dance for Democracy with dancing, dinner and drinks at the just-opened RH Smith Mercantile converted industrial event space in downtown Port Jervis. With music by the wonderful Marc Von Em Trio, this evening promises to raise funds for actions to support our democracy and voter programs, and provide a great, fun evening for all who would Dance for Democracy! Local multimedia artist, former teacher and Hudson resident, Xe Davis, hosts our second session of Curious Creators! This time we’ll shape, air-dry, and paint clay beads before turning them into colorful, fun bracelets. This activity is best for ages 4-8. All supplies will be provided.

Community Conversations is an opportunity to join local experts and community members virtually. This program series addresses important issues, from affordable farmland to building a community forest, and explores how they connect to conservation. One-hour Zoom sessions will include brief presentations, time for questions and answers, and the opportunity to connect with others.

This month, we will explore how the conservation of birds and land management practices inform and support one another.

Ben Nickley, Executive Director of the Berkshire Bird Observatory, will be joined by Heidi Bock, Vice President of Conservation at CLC, to discuss MAPS (Monitoring Avian Productivity and Survivorship) research to discuss MAPS (Monitoring Avian Productivity and Survivorship) research and Kestrel conservation work conducted at Ooms this past summer. Bock will highlight how CLC manages the land at Ooms for grassland birds and specific management practices utilized at the site. Nickley will speak about the mission of the Berkshire Bird Observatory and share why researching bird populations at sites like Ooms is so important.

Calling all teens (ages 9 – 18) to decorate the big Teen Room windows with erasable chalk markers and create some wintery cheer! We will have plenty of art materials and SNACKS, of course. Plus, you can get some volunteer hours credit!Date/Time: Wednesday, December 17, 4 – 6pm

"Breaking the Algorithm IRL" is a monthly series presented by Wave Farm’s WGXC 90.7-FM as part of our Local Waves initiative and the show "Local Waves in Conversation." Part conversation led by Mike Amari of Chosen Family and part DJ set by a WGXC volunteer, the series highlights local artists, musicians, venue owners and bookers, and record label owners.
