Bridge Street Theatre presents Ernest Thompson’s On Golden Pond, Nov 13–23 on its “Priscilla” Mainstage in Catskill. Directed by BST Co-Founder John Sowle, this contemporary American classic offers a heartfelt, humorous portrait of Norman and Ethel Thayer, long-married partners spending one last summer at their Maine cabin. When their estranged daughter arrives, old wounds resurface—and second chances emerge. A tender meditation on family, aging, and love.

Tom O’Dowd will teach participants to identify trees during winter by their twigs, buds, bark, and even smell.

What to expect: We will walk up to two miles along Hickory Lane, the Dogwood Trail, and the Meadow Connector. These trails are forested, packed earth with some exposed roots. We will be stopping often to discuss the trees we see. Bench seating is available along the trail. Bringing a way to take notes (e.g., a smartphone, camera, or notebook) is recommended for this program! Social, leashed dogs are welcome, but please bring a bag for waste.

THAT TIME OF YEAR is a quarterly-ish reading series featuring writers sharing work around a theme. November’s theme is “Guts.”

ARIANA REINES is an award-winning poet, Obie-winning playwright, performing artist, and translator. Her recent books include A Sand Book (Tin House, 2020) winner of the Kingsley Tufts Poetry Award, Wave of Blood (Divided Publishing, 2025), and The Rose (Graywolf, 2025).

CHRISTINE SHAN SHAN HOU is a poet and collage artist whose publications include A Promise (b l u s h, 2025), Playdate (White Columns, 2022), The Joy and Terror are Both in the Swallowing (After Hours Editions, 2021), and Community Garden for Lonely Girls (Gramma Poetry, 2017).

KIMBERLY ALIDIO has published five books of poetry and poetic prose; the most recent is Traceable Relation (Fonograf Editions), and Teeter (Nightboat Books, winner of the 2022 Nightboat Poetry Prize and the 2024 Lambda Literary Award).

In celebration of the 300th anniversary of the publication of Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons, Hudson Baroque will be presenting an energetic program featuring this iconic baroque work alongside other contemporary Venetian treats.

A season finale of the monthly ambient music series known as "Sunday Night Swim" at The Avalon Lounge in Catskill, NY.

This show will close out the year for the series, with a trio of musicians, Matthew O'Neill, Rebecca Borrer, and Sam Calder, all playing a round-robin collaborative set. They will be playing alone and together in an immersive, slowly morphing sound bed. A chill night for those who need some space or some exploration. Chairs and floor blankets will be available.

All are invited to learn various Qigong sets and then work on a traditional Tai Chi Form – a set series of movements and postures – with instructor Curt Anthon, a member of the Yang Family Tai Chi Association. All are welcome! Location: In person, Hudson Area Library Community Room and virtual via Zoom.
