Nature's Ghosts: The World We Lost and How to Bring it Back by Sophie Yeo

All are welcome to come and discuss themes of ecology and humanity’s relationship with nature with other book and nature lovers in our reading and hiking club! Each month we will go on a leisurely hike with stopping points for book discussion. Some months will have guest lecturers.

This tournament is held in honor of our friend and former Gateway Hudson Valley Vice President who was a longstanding supporter of the agency and its goals. Proceeds from this event fund programs at Gateway as we support individuals with differing abilities to live successful, satisfying, and enriched lives. Yoga for Gardening with Pamela Martin at the Mountain Top Arboretum.

Sessions run Wednesdays from June 11- October 8; Class is from 3:15-4:15 (feel free to join us beforehand for volunteer gardening!)

You're welcome to join us for outdoor* yoga classes led by Pamela Martin and other local yoga teachers. Learn tips and tricks to avoid injury, and to help support the body during gardening and yard work. A stretch and strength class appropriate for multiple levels. Please bring a mat, water, sunscreen and bug spray. Wear comfortable clothing you can move in.

* in case of inclement weather, sessions will take place indoors in the Education Center.

This program starts just after our garden volunteering ends. Please feel free to join us for volunteer gardening.

You're invited to join Stewardship Coordinator Garrett Chisholm every Thursday to help tackle the invasive species that threaten the health of the Preserve. Volunteers will learn how to identify and manage a different invasive species every week.

Operation Unite is teaming up with the Hudson Rotary to raise funds for First Responders who need special ambulance equipment in Columbia County, Cairo and Greenville in Greene County and service programs for Operation Unite youth. We know how important service is to our communities and the importance of exposing youth to service and service providers doing the hard work. 70% of funds raised will purchase equipment and 30% will assist future leaders and service providers. Everyone is welcome!

The Candlelight Memorial Walk for Recovery organized by Columbia County Pathways to Recovery is in memory of those lost to substance use disorder and to celebrate those in recovery. Come together to honor, remember, and walk in love and support for those impacted by substance use. Light the way for recovery and hope.

A trail run and walk to raise funds for the Preserve and the Rensselaerville Library! The Ramble starts and ends at the Huyck Preserve's Eldridge Research Center and will take you through the Huyck Preserve's beautiful forests for distances of 2 miles, 5 miles, or 8 miles.

The Mountain Top Historical Society of Greene County presents the 13th Annual Postcard Show with John Duda, Saturday, September 20, 10:00 AM – 3:00 PM at the MTHS’s Ulster & Delaware Train Station, 5132 Route 23A, Haines Falls, NY.
