Born Thanksgiving Weekend 2013 as the Anti-Black Friday big sister goddess, Basilica Farm & Flea is part timeless flea market, part farmer’s market, part 21st century craft and design fair. Each market features a diverse group of regional vendors selling their handmade & collected wares alongside locally-sourced, farm-fresh foods. With over 10,000 square feet of raw space that has been historically and sustainably renovated, Basilica Farm & Flea is the only market of this scale in the region, and is an integral part of Basilica Hudson’s arts and cultural programs.

You are invited to join us on Saturday, May 10 from 5–6:30 PM in the Art Omi Studio Barn for an Art Omi: Writers Reading with the May cohort of Writers-in-Residence! This international group of authors will read a selection of new and in-progress works in various genres and often, other languages.

Listen in on a unique collection of moving, humorous, inventive, and unexpected literary voices drawing on various cultural contexts.The Studio Barn is located at the intersection of County Route 22 and Letter S Road, 300 yards north of our main entrance at 1405 County Route 22 in Ghent, NY. Parking on the grass is available next to the Studio Barn, and a parking attendant will be onsite to guide traffic.

The Studio Barn is ADA-accessible. If you would like assistance, please inform the parking attendant and we will be happy to bring you to the event from your car in a golf cart.

In this month’s Little Wonders Storytime, Mr. Purple will read "Lola Plants a Garden" by Anna McQuinn, and he’ll lead a mini garden activity! Children will plant seeds in small cups, decorate plant markers, and learn about the life cycle of plants while exploring sensory play with soil.
