Dance & movement workshops over Spring Break between Apr. 14-17 for youth ages 5-12. Classical & contemporary dance & movement education taught by career professionals working in the field. Workshops will incorporate ballet, musical theater, modern dance, improvisation, Capoeira martial arts & more. You can register for one or multiple days! Pre-registration is required (link below)

Opera director and Hudson resident R.B. Schlather reunites with early music band Ruckus in April 2025 for six performances of Handel’s baroque blockbuster GIULIO CESARE. Repeating the successful alchemy of RODELINDA (2023), Schlather brings together area residents, rising young stars, and some of the finest baroque interpreters today to share his passion for Handel in the intimacy of New York State’s oldest surviving theater.

“These characters may have ancient names, but they’re completely modern. Giulio Cesare is a wild ride—packed with intrigue, danger, seduction, sharp wit, and gut-wrenching drama. Think of it as Handel’s version of a pulp fiction thriller, inspired by Julius Caesar’s high-stakes escapades in Egypt and his scandalous love affair with the young, cunning Cleopatra. Back in Handel’s day, performers rocked contemporary fashion, played against minimal backdrops, and lit up the stage with raw charisma. When the decision is made to use the atom bomb on Japan, Leo Szilard, tormented by his role in creating it, must do everything he can to prevent the catastrophe occurring. When Colonel Paul Tibbets is given the go-ahead to drop the bomb, Shigeko Nomura, a young woman living in Hiroshima who survives her city’s destruction, must use every last ounce of energy to reach and rescue her parents.

The two actors enact the stories of a brilliant Hungarian scientist, a daring American pilot and a devoted Japanese daughter. Partly using verbatim testimonies, THE MISTAKE is a drama about the dangers that arise when humans dare to unlock the awesome power of nature.
