Unsilent Night is an original composition by Phil Kline, written specifically to be heard outdoors in the month of December. Since the first one in 1992, it’s been performed in cities all over the world. This is the 30th Anniversary of the piece and will be extra special.
The event is moving boombox parade where multiple speakers make one shimmering, seasonal composition. Each participant downloads a track from a website or loads an app onto their phone. We all meet up at the same place and all the participants press play at the same time. Then we head out and walk a carefully chosen 45 minute route through the streets of Kingston, creating a unique mobile sound sculpture that's different from every listener’s perspective.
We'll be meeting in uptown Kingston a little before 6:00 PM. (The exact starting location is TBA. Stay tuned for more information.)
The event is free.
Remember:
* Be prepared to walk the unpredictable sidewalks of Kingston for 45 minutes.
* Download the track in advance at: unsilentnight.com/participate
* Bring fully charged cellphone and bluetooth speaker
* Dress warmly and dress up: costumes, battery powered lights, sparkles.

The Silos are celebrating the 35th Anniversary of their seminal album “Cuba” with the release of a double LP version that includes a live recording of the Bird album songs on the second LP. We will be performing the Cuba album, plus songs from the Bird album, from the new album "Family" and lots of favorites from all the subsequent albums. Kind of a greatest hits show for the Silos super fans.”
