"My interest in shock was first sparked when I suffered a shock myself after a car accident. It had a profound effect which I found difficult to convey, as I had no visible wounds or gashes. Perhaps it addled my brain, perhaps it resonated with earlier experiences of culture shock, but in any event, the connection between these various articulations of shock became electrically clear." (the artist). Shock maps the aesthetics and kinaesthetics of the shock experience, historically, physically and psychically, from modernism to post modernism, from the attack of event to the decay of after-shock, from the metaphor into the corporeal body. It explores the different meanings of shock through stories and texts.
