This week we feature music from the Sahel region of West Africa. The Sahel is that ecoclimatic and biogeographic region that stretches across Africa south of the Sahara and north of the Sudanian Savannah. This show draws on some of the recordings of one label that specializes in the music of this region: Sahel Sounds of Portland, Oregon.
