Our Living Lands: A weekly radio segment that explores the impact of climate change on Indigenous communities
"Our Living Lands" is a five-minute, weekly radio segment that explores the impact of climate change on Indigenous communities' health, culture, and environment. Every week you’ll hear about unique challenges and innovative solutions from Alaska to Florida. Led by a three-person Indigenous team, "Our Living Lands" is a collaboration of the Mountain West News Bureau, Koahnic Broadcast Corporation, and Native Public Media.
The Our Living Lands team includes host Antonia Gonzales (Navajo), editor Joseph Lee (Aquinnah Wampanoag), and reporter/producer Daniel Spaulding (Nimíipúu). Mountain West News Bureau Managing Editor Michael de Yoanna oversees the program. Theme music by Delbert Anderson (Navajo).
WGXC airs "Our Living Lands" from Native Voice One. Native Voice One (NV1) is the distribution division of Anchorage-based Koahnic Broadcast Corporation. Our mission is to serve as a leader in bringing Native voices to Alaska, the nation, and the world. NV1 distributes work from Native and non-Native producers whose programming educates, advocates, and celebrates Indigenous life and values. The programs also enlighten and inform the general public about Native American news, culture, history, music, events, and modern life.
