This week, we are paying tribute to Elades Ochoa, and also, we are playing Rumbas, Carnavalitos, Chamames and Candombes. Eliades Ochoa plays the guitar, also the tres, a variant of the guitar, with two additional strings. His involvement with the Buena Vista Social Club and the Wim Wenders film of the same name , has led him to worldwide fame, and admiration. Plus Carnavalitos from Argentina, Rumba from Cuba and Spain, Chamames from Argentina and Candombes from Uruguay.
The show explores the native instruments, languages and traditions played in 22 countries and one territory. Other than Spanish and Portuguese, Nuestra Musica presents songs in the following languages: Quechua, Mapuche, Guarani, Nahuatl, Gallego, Spanish Basque, and Catalan.
