On the occasion of Groundswell 2015 WGXC is pleased to present a broadcast of Quintron's Weather Warlock installation and culminating performance.

Quintron’s Weather Warlock is a weather-based sound installation and instrument. A large analog synthesizer, Weather Warlock employs sun, rain, wind, temperature, moon, and lightning to affect an E major drone chord with special sonic events occurring as the sun transitions across the sky.

At Groundswell, Weather Warlock is installed throughout the duration of the event, experienced by attendees as a generative sound installation that responds to the site-specific weather conditions at Olana. At 4 p.m., as the culminating event at Groundswell, Weather Warlock becomes a live instrument. Quintron begins to manipulate the controls; and is joined by a group of collaborating artists/musicians for improvisation in tandem with the sounds of the sun, which is at its zenith at Latitude: 1° 26' North, Longitude: 61° 32' West.

Weather Warlock: Sunset Waits For No Man participating artists include Quintron (guitar and Weather Warlock synth), Gary Wrong (guitar and electronics), Aaron Hill (drums), and two or more guest local musicians whose names will be disclosed on the day of the performance.

The Olana Partnership and Wave Farm’s WGXC 90.7-FM are pleased to co-present a third iteration of their award-winning exhibition event Groundswell. On Saturday September 19, 2015, hundreds will converge at Olana State Historic Site for site-specific performance and works and in sound, installation, broadcast, and movement. Participating artists will reflect on and react to Olana and its integral viewshed as an ambitious and early environmental work include: John Cage Trust with Seth Chrisman, John Cleater, Brian Dewan, Gambletron, Tyson Hauf, Bernd Klug, LoVid, Douglas Irving Repetto, and Quintron.
