Don Schermerhorn was born during the original Woodstock, the youngest of three boys, with a bell in his mouth. He was awarded the Brian Yeager award for music and sports in high school and graduated from Adirondack Community College with an Associate of Arts degree. Aside from sports and theater, he also has an interest in hot air balloons. Don has worked in the security field for well over 20 years. He has worked for the New York State Department of Parks & Restoration & Historic Preservation, and is currently a Site Supervisor of security at the Van Rennsselaer Manor in Troy, NY. He lives in Cairo, NY with his wife and daughter.

On each Catskill Cabin Conversations broadcast, invited guests are asked to discuss a number of items that they would take with them on a Catskill cabin getaway. As they discuss their chosen items, it is intended that you, the listener, will enjoy getting to know each guest that little bit better. Produced by Andy Reid and Mike Porter.
