We indulge in a bit of nostalgia today as we travel back to a time when the global economy was in crisis and people everywhere were facing inflation, unemployment, and collapse of the dreams brought by advances of the previous decade. But wait… We’re talking, of course, about the 1970s and early ‘80s – when the musical melting pot boiled over and DISCO took over dance clubs around the world – offering a sense of freedom and escape through fantasy, fashion, sex, drugs and other excess. Today we journey to the African continent to imagine ourselves on the dancefloors of Cameroon, Central African Republic, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Mali, Nigeria, and South Africa, between the years of 1976-1982. "Music for the Masses" invites you on an excursion of sound and rhythm. Discover the music of established and emerging artists, both signed and unsigned, on the international music scene. For the avid globe-hopper and armchair traveler alike. You might want to pack a map and a sandwich. Broadcast live from Catskill.
