Tune in for an audition of Michael Alan Hams' show "Balance Check," a Full Spectrum Sonic Exploration into the Inner Workings of the Human Experience…one Theme at a Time. This broadcast, "Freshman Year - Spring Semester" features special guest Owen Cook.
Michael Alan Hams was born and raised in central Minnesota to a family of musicians and thespians. His parents owned the local music shop (instruments, not records), and were heavily involved with community theater and school productions. After high school, he attended Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle, WA, earning his Bachelor’s of Music in 2006. Shortly thereafter, Michael moved to southern California, where for the better part of a decade, he performed and recorded with some of the area’s finest musicians. In 2016, after releasing his debut album, Knockout Bell, he moved to Brooklyn, NY. It was there that he met his future wife, and partner, Laura Zarougian. Through Covid, they recorded and released her debut album, Nayri, and relocated together to the Hudson Valley, where they recently welcomed their daughter and rescued a senior poodle. He is working on his next full-length record with NYC producer Andrea Monorchio, with plans of releasing later this year.
