"Dino" J.A. Deane was a trombonist and multi-instrumentalist and master of electronic processing for sound design and performance. He worked in some capacity with artists such as Tina Turner, playwright Sam Shepard, Jon Hassell, and Butch Morris. Here we hear two performances at Roulette: a 2012 duo with guitarist Tim Motzer in which Deane plays lap steel dulcimer, and a 1995 solo for flute, trombone, percussion, and electronics. Deane also worked extensively with scoring for dance, particularly for his partner the gymnast and choreographer Colleen Mulvihill who passed away in 2019. Deane died in 2021.
