I’m your friendly neighborhood Magic Stranger and I have records to share with you. I collect records. I have lots of records. I have too many records. 10” records. 7” records. 12” records. They are made of vinyl, shellac, and metro-lite. They spin at 45 revolutions per minute, 33 revolutions per minute, and, FYI, if you add those two speeds together you end up at 78 revolutions per minute. My preferred revolution. Most of these 78rpm records sound best when using a fat 3mil diamond stylus while the 45s and 33rpm LPs like a superfine microgroove needle for full-bodied results. Anyway, like most Magic Strangers, I too like all kinds of music ~common and uncommon~ of all genres ~from any time period~ from all over the world. Join me every Thursday night from 10pm ‘til midnight and follow me down the rabbit hole of record collecting.
