On this edition of From The Vault, we present Pacifica's unique recording of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. from London in 1964. A group called Christian Action invited Dr. King to address a London audience on the topic of South Africa. When Dr. King was notified that he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, he decided to combine these two events on the same trip. Pacifica European Correspondent Saul Bernstein was there to record the only known recording of Dr. King's entire speech. So let's turn back the clock to a standing-room-only City Temple Hall in London, where Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave this speech to an overflow crowd that was accommodated by closed circuit TV on a Monday evening, Dec. 7th, 1964.
