In this broadcast, host Sam Sebren will be joined in the studio by jazz pianist, singer, and composer Karen Mantler for a tribute to drummer, percussionist, thereminist, composer Michael Evans (1957-2021). Mantier and Evans collaborated on Mantler's albums “Farewell” and “Pet Project." Evans was endlessly experimental and he performed, recorded, and toured with dozens of musicians and performers including God Is My Co-Pilot, Combustible Edison, Aimee Mann, Jason Willet, Peter Zummo, Lary Seven, Michael Gira, Martha Colburn, Gen Ken Montgomery, Christopher Walken, The NY Theremin Society, EasSide Percussion, Elliot Sharp, and in the duo MESH with his partner, choreographer Susan Hefner. Listeners will hear a selection of sounds from Evans' extensive musical output and maybe some stories along the way.

Sounds across the sonic spectrum, blurring genres and focusing on under- and unrecognized artists working in experimental territories. The show will include interviews with guest composers and feature live performances and collaborations.
