We feature two new bands out of Africa with two new approaches to their musical tradition taking it forward and pushing the boundaries: BCUC (Bantu Continua Uhuru Consciousness) from South Africa and KOKOKO! from Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo.

Music from around the world is featured. Bringing the audience into the realm of other cultures through music, hopefully expanding empathy for the “other”, and recognizing that “other” in ourselves.
