On our first show after a brief break, Nuestra Música will present music from Argentina, Brazil, Spain, Portugal, Costa Rica, Cuba, Colombia, and Chile. From the incomparable “La Cumparsita,” to the “uncensored” version of "Fiesta" by Joan Manuel Serrat, to Piazzolla “Adiós Nonino,” and some Black rhythms of Peru. Enjoy the show!
“Nuestra Música,” “Our Music,” presents the rhythms and folklore of Latin America, Spain, Portugal and Cape Verde. From Tango to Flamenco and all Latinx music in between. The show explores the native instruments, languages and traditions played in 22 countries and one territory. Other than Spanish and Portuguese, Nuestra Música presents songs in Quechua, Mapuche, Guaraní, Nahuatl, Gallego, Spanish Basque, and Catalán. Among many styles we present: Tango, Chacarera, Baguala, Zamba with a Z and Samba with and S, Bossa Nova, Cumbia, Llanero, Vallenato, Merengue, Parrandera, Son, Bolero, Ranchera, Corrido, Marimba, Fado, Flamenco, Sevillanas, Jota, Blues, Jazz, Danzon, Mambo and many more.
