Music from around the world is featured. Bringing the audience into the realm of other cultures through music, hopefully expanding empathy for the “other,” and recognizing that “other” in ourselves. In 2021 the Cuban pianist and composer, Omar Sosa, released an album documenting his musical collaborations with many different musicians from across East Africa. The album: "An East African Journey" serves as the inspiration for this weeks show. We feature music from that album as well as ritual music from Tanzania, and selections from two collaborations between the electronic musician/composer Andi Otto and Sophia Nzayisenga and Evariste Karinganire both from Rwanda.
