New York State lawmakers say they have a deal to legalize the adult use of marijuana. Melissa Moore, NYS Director of the Drug Policy Alliance, provides an overview of what has been agreed to with WOOC's Mark Dunlea. And, On March 24, a group assembled in the Albany State Capital Concord to demand $3.5 billion to be included in the NY State Budget to support workers excluded from previous COVID-19 financial relief packages. Many in attendance had been fasting since last week to underscore the dire need for this financial support. Many were from Columbia County including the Reverend Kathryn Beilke, from Hudson First Presbyterian Church, and members of the Columbia County Sanctuary Movement. Sina Basila Hickey reports from WOOC. Plus, Lovonia Mallory interviews the local President of the Schenectady Chapter of the NAACP, Nicolle Harris, to talk about the lawsuit filed against ex-president Trump and Rudy Giuliani for violated the Ku Klux Klan Act of 1871, for conspiring to violate civil rights. This lawsuit was filed on behalf of Congressman, Bennie Thompson and the NAACP.

Some reports come from our partner station, WOOC-LP in Troy, out of The Sanctuary for Independent Media. Tom Roe also cuts up local and national news with songs and sounds for the show. At 9 a.m. "The WGXC Daily," with local headlines, weather, and previews of community events, airs. At 10 a.m., national headlines from Public News Service are on WGXC. Sometimes national, state, or local press conferences, meetings, or events are broadcast live here.
