With so much focus now on Super Tuesday and the candidates, you might think more people would notice that none of the candidates...Republican or Democratic..outright opposes the FBI getting a court order to force Apple to defeat the encryption on the iPhone belonging to the Santa Barbara terrorists. Who DOES oppose the FBI's move? The former head of the NSA, that's who...along with some journalism and information company execs and civil liberties/privacy advocates. And based on my personal experiences as a journalist( before my 3 decades at CBS News) i can tell you that being on the receiving end of an FBI search warrant and raid on my news office...a grand jury subpoena to testify and a contempt citation for refusing... let me assure you these tactics did nothing to fight or find terrorists, but they did impede journalism (told through narration,music and soundbites).
