The New York Department of Environmental Conservation recently fined the Dunn Landfill in Rensselaer County $35,000 for odor and dust violations. Mark Dunlea from WGXC's partner station WOOC in Troy, discussed the landfill with Dave Ellis of the Rensselaer Environmental Coalition. In the second hour, Catskill musician Foggy Otis will talk about the “Live Music Experience” highlighting the talent-rich Northern Catskills region through a one-day event in Windham on Sat., July 6.

The WGXC Morning Show is a radio magazine show featuring local news, interviews with community leaders and personalities, reports on cultural issues, a rundown of public meetings and local and regional events, with weather updates, and more about and for the community, made mostly through volunteers in the community through WGXC. Some reports come from our partner station, WOOC-LP in Troy, out of The Sanctuary for Independent Media. Tuesdays the show is live from HiLo in Catskill.
