International Creole Day, celebrated every year on Oct. 28, was introduced in the 1970s and '80s as a way of honoring a common heritage shared by millions from creole speaking countries throughout the world. Today's musical menu features a gumbo of music from the Caribbean, Atlantic and Indian Oceans, as well as creole diasporas in the USA, Canada, and Europe. Music for the Masses invites you on an excursion of sound and rhythm. Discover the music of established and emerging artists, both signed and unsigned, on the international music scene. Expect the unexpected. You might want to pack a map and a sandwich. For the avid globe-hopper and armchair traveler alike. Broadcast live from the Carnegie Room of the Catskill Library.
