In the debut episode of "A Curious Ear," we explore the use of field recordings as a means of contextualizing our listening experience or in some cases, abstracting that experience. We wander through the physical world, in some cases quite literally, as we listen to works that incorporate field recordings.
"A Curious Ear" hosted by Chris Cresswell explores the unlikely connections between experimental, contemporary classical, ambient, noise, and other musics. The show airs at 11 pm, on the second Saturday of every month on WCNY-FM, as part of WCNY’s Tomorrow’s Choices Today. Archived episodes are hosted on MixCloud.
