This installment of Overlooked will focus on African guitar. Host Rob Saffer will feature African music that showcases guitar, from griots to AfroRock. Rather than focusing on commonly heard African guitar music like King Sunny Ade, we’ll focus on ‘overlooked’ masters from Guinea, Mali, Benin, Kenya, Angola, Tanzania and more, including Zani Diabaté, Bassekou Kouyate, Ebo Taylor and H.O. Kabaselleh, among many others. Not to be too obscure, we’ll also hear a rare, early Ali Farka Touré recording.
