Walk into a radio station today and you are likely to find a ham or three keeping that station on the air. Back in the 80's, an aspiring radio announcer named Art Bell/W6OBB made Okinawa his home on radio station KSBK. It wouldn't be until a decade later that Art would be heard literally "coast to coast" on more than 500 stations by more than 15,000,000 folks in the wee hours of the morning. According to Wikipedia, his topics ranged from "the paranormal, the occult, UFOs, protoscience and pseudoscience." Recently Eric Guth/4Z1UG spoke with Art for an hour for QSOToday, a weekly ham radio podcast Eric produces from Israel, available on qsotoday.com. RAIN's Hap Holly/KC9RP has extracted two 15-minute segments from that podcastPart 1 is on the RAIN archive page on therainreport.com. This week we bring you the conclusion of Art Bell - His Story. The RAIN Report is available on demand from therainreport.com; on Twitter @therainreport, and via iTunes. The RAIN Report is made available under a Community Commons license.
