In celebration of Sunshine Week, Robert J. Freeman, Executive Director of the New York Department of State Committee on Open Government will be in the studio for the hour to discuss the Open Meetings Law and Freedom of Information Law. Freeman has worked for the Committee since its creation in 1974 and was appointed executive director in 1976. Sunshine Week is a national initiative to promote a dialogue about the importance of open government and freedom of information. Participants include news media, civic groups, libraries, nonprofits, schools and others interested in the public’s right to know.
