WGXC's live broadcasts from the Avalon Lounge in Catskill resume with a performance from Sky Furrows and Wild Weeds. Fronted by poet Karen Schoemer, Albany's Sky Furrows combine influences from krautrock and early New Zealand bands like the Clean and the Verlaines to the Minutemen, Sylvia Plath, and early Sonic Youth. Schoemer collaborates with bassist Mike Watt in the duo Jaded Azurites, and with Wreckless Eric and Amy Rigby. Mike Griffin, Eric Hardiman and Phil Donnelly are members of the psych-rock improv unit Burnt Hills. Sky Furrows released their self-titled debut album in October 2020 via Tape Drift/Skell Recordings/Philthy Rex. Slink Moss from Copake fronts the Wild Weeds.
