Slippery Stairs are from Livingston Manor, New York where they use breakbeats and synths to keep warm in the winter. Their experimental techno mixes the dreaminess of New Age music with the hard edge of post-punk Goth. The duo is Stacy Wakefield and Nick Forte. Forte is behind projects such as Dawn People (DFA), Beautiful Skin (GSL), Christmas Decorations (Kranky) and solo electronics (Schematic, Amish, Catholic Tapes, Obsolete Units, etc.). In another strand of his musical career, Forte plays guitar in Raspberry Bulbs (Hospital Records, Blackest Ever Black) and, further back, New Jersey's seminal hardcore outfit Rorschach (Gern Blandsten). Men’s Tennis plays a DJ set from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. Men’s Tennis were a minimalist outer boroughs analogue electrofunk duo operating in NYC between 2001-2008. For the first time in more than a decade they will be reuniting for this epic match on the synthwave circuit with a DJ set of Italo disco, synth-pop, Detroit electro and other tunes ideal for dancing on grass, clay, or hard courts.
