WGXC 90.7-FM and Omi International Arts Center are pleased to broadcast a trio of live performances in support of WGXC 90.7-FM’s Radio Active Pledge Drive, which takes place June 4-19. Live performances from poet Todd Colby, Power Animal System, and The Schoemer Formation, helmed by Karen Schoemer, and featuring rock legends Wreckless Eric and Amy Rigby. All performances will be broadcast live from a public event at the Art Omi's Education Pavilion. All are welcome to attend live.

Todd Colby attended the University of Iowa, where he and fellow students started the band Drunken Boat in the 1980s. His first poetry collection, Ripsnort, was published in 1994, followed by Cush (1995), Riot in the Charm Factory (1999), and Tremble & Shine (2004). The New York School poets, punk rock, spoken-word poetry, John Ashbery, and the modernists, including William Carlos Williams and Gertrude Stein, all influence his poetry.

Power Animal System is the ongoing project of Jason Martin, a performance artist and musician. A species and gender-queer explorations of mysterious forces channelled through hybrid beings from elsewhere, Power Animal System manifests as a series of performances, videos, and photographs.

The Schoemer Formation is a Hudson Valley-based spoken word/music project comprised of author Karen Schoemer (words, vocals) and underground rock ’n’ roll legends Eric Goulden (bass guitar, electric fuzz bass) and Amy Rigby (keyboards, electric guitar). The trio formed in early 2014 has been “wowing and waking unsuspecting patrons with a combination of big riffs and poetic lyrics in the tradition of the Doors, Suicide, and Two Lone Swordsmen” ever since.
