Howard Duane Allman (Nov. 20, 1946 to Oct. 29, 1971) was an American guitarist, session musician, co-founder and leader of the The Allman Brothers Band until his death in a motorcycle accident in 1971 at the age of 24. The show will feature tracks by pre-Allman Brothers bands The Escorts, The Allman Joys, The Hour Glass and The 31st Of February, as well as songs featuring Allman's guitar playing by Clarence Carter, King Curtis, Aretha Franklin, Laura Nyro, Wilson Pickett, Otis Rush and jazz flautist Herbie Mann.
