This week on From The Vault we have a special visit from legacy Pacifica journalist Chris Koch, who worked at KPFK from 1960-1963 and was Program Director at WBAI, beginning in 1963, to cover the civil rights movement in the South. Koch produced, narrated and field recorded some of the earliest and most important recordings in the civil rights and voter registration movements. Some of his most exceptional work also included a casual hang in New York with Che Guevara, an intimate interview with James Baldwin, recordings as the first American journalist in North Vietnam, and an excellent retrospective of Malcolm X, to name a few.
