Mind the Gap: A Curious Ear - Episode 2, A Holy Presence
Produced by Wave Farm staff, WGXC Volunteer Programmers, and other contributors.
In this episode of "A Curious Ear," we explore works that are oriented towards that most precious thing in the world: love, the spiritual, or given another name, a holy presence. We’ll hear Seth Park Woods perform Julius Eastman’s The Holy Presence of Joan d’Arc, alongside works by ganavya, Orlando Jacinto Garcia, and a 21st century interpretation of the 12th century hymn, Nunc aperuit nobis, composed by Hildegard von Bingen.
"A Curious Ear" hosted by Chris Cresswell explores the unlikely connections between experimental, contemporary classical, ambient, noise, and other musics. The show airs at 11 pm, on the second Saturday of every month on WCNY-FM, as part of WCNY’s Tomorrow’s Choices Today. Archived episodes are hosted on MixCloud.
