In collaboration with Clocktower Radio, Wave Farm's WGXC-FM is pleased to bring you performances from Eartheater, Pale Horse, and Proofreaders, as part of the Fire Over Heaven Music Series, curated by Greg Fox. These performances took place on June 24, 2015 at Outpost Artists Resources in Ridgewood, NY.
Eartheater: Alexandra Drewchin, who performs solo under the Eartheater moniker, seeks on a daily basis to upgrade her mental software. As the frontwoman of the ecstatic avant-psych ensemble Guardian Alien, Drewchin dives into extended improvisations in pursuit of the fearless release of emotions and sounds beyond the capacity of premeditation. On her debut solo full-length Metalepsis, Eartheater traces the opposite trajectory: the deliberate distillation of voice, synths, guitar, and electronic production techniques into short-form compositions teeming with crystalline details.
Pale Horse: Free improvisers on clarinet (Jeremiah Cymerman), cello (Christopher Hoffmann) and drums (Brian Chase), building dark intertwining structures that create the illusion of electronics out of acoustics sources in a phantasmal audio journey.
Proofreaders: Trevor Dunn’s band Proofreaders, with Dunn on upright bass, Darius Jones on saxophone, Nate Wooley on trumpet and Ryan Sawyer on drums play music of Ornette Coleman.
Works performed: The Fifth of Beethoven, I Heard It Over The Radio, Folk Tale, Kathelin Gray, The Face of the Bass, Joy of a Toy
