The killings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile last week brought a new wave of shock to the American public, and among black communities, feelings of grief and rage were mingled with a steadfast determination for change. Community radio was there to help its listeners make sense of it all. In Baton Rouge (WHYR), the All-American Sports Show hosts Eric Hatfield and Coach Perry Daniels conducted a 3-hour special broadcast; in Minneapolis (KFAI), Soul Tools Radio hosts Toki Wright and Britney Lynch gave their community 2 hours. This week on Sprouts we bring you excerpts from these heart-wrenching community conversations. Produced by Sprouts.
