From WGDR, Goddard College Plainfield, VT. wgdr.org/. Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma, who brought the North Indian Santoor (hammered dulcimer) into Classical Indian music, was born in 1938 in Jammu, India. He passed away May 10, 2022. Before him the santoor was used only in Indian Folk music. Today we pay tribute to his legacy by featuring music from two recordings and two different contexts.
