In the latest Hudson Valley Word of Mouth segment, Julia Joern talks to Tim Cornelison Sr. and Tim Cornelison Jr., the family behind the recently-opened Old Factory Brewing Company in downtown Cairo. Anchoring this small town in Greene County, this historic brick building was originally a beverage bottling plant that was neglected for decades. And now, this father-and-son team has brought it back to life. With a 5,000 square-foot tasting room, a dog-friendly outdoor beer garden, and a long porch bar that overlooks Main Street, this brewery is most notably home to on-site beer making — featuring stouts, IPAs, ales, and an American Kolsch — but also a venue for musical performances, special events, and an ongoing series of fundraisers that support the local community, including the Cairo Town Ambulance Service and the Saugerties Animal Shelter.
