DJ Cheb i Sabbah was born in Algeria, spent his young adult life in Paris and eventually moved to San Francisco where he produced a number of unique albums drawing on the musical traditions of India, Pakistan, the Middle East and North Africa. He merged that music with electronica and other elements. He passed away in 2013. We feature some of his music today.
