Nuestra Música: RITMOS Y BLUES

Nuestra Música: RITMOS Y BLUES. M.V. (Jul 08, 2025)

Hosted by Mariano Vera.

Today we are presenting Ritmos y Blues , a modified version of the American Version R&B.

The Latino Ritmos y Blues emerge with some African Latinx influences from Brazil, Uruguay, Cuba and Puerto Rico, blending jazz, native instruments, languages and paces.

The Latinx Blues mixed with the Ritmos, finds it roots in the Missisippi Delta Blues, and incorporates the local musical touch.

We started the show with Jose Mangual, Jr. American born of Puerto Rican descent and Boricua Blues, followed by Memphis La Blusera from Argentina with La Flor Mas Bella, Chilean Folk and Rock Los tres and La Espada y la Pared and finally in this group of songs Los Fabulosos Cadillacs from Argentina with a remastered version of their classic “Matador”. And many more Ritmos y Blues. Enjoy the show.

“Nuestra Música,” “Our Music,” presents the rhythms and folklore of Latin America, Spain, Portugal, and Cape Verde. From Tango to Flamenco and all Latinx music in between. The show explores the native instruments, languages, and traditions played in 22 countries and one territory. Other than Spanish and Portuguese, "Nuestra Música" presents songs in Quechua, Mapuche, Guaraní, Nahuatl, Gallego, Spanish Basque, and Catalán.
